We love photographing weddings around the south west enjoy reading about some of our wedding adventures.

Love Day Photography, have spent the last few weeks contacting all our 2014 wedding couples, to check everything is running smoothly! We are really looking forward to taking your wedding photographs around Devon & Cornwall. If you are getting married in the next couple of years, here are our Top Ten Tips!

Remember your wedding day, is your special day, and you want to be able to relax and enjoy every moment without being stressed.

1 It is best to plan plenty of time for each part of the day from getting ready, the ceremony, the reception and the evening party. Remember to plan plenty of time for photographs and any potential travel time.

• Getting ready – Allow lots of time for cravats, button holes and lace up dresses.

• Ceremony and reception – We recommend 1 – 2 hours, between the ceremony and the reception for group and natural photographs.

2 Is photography/filming allowed during the wedding ceremony at the venue?

3 Do you wish to have confetti shots?

• Not all guests may bring confetti, and at many weddings, cones of confetti/petals are now supplied.

• Remember to check if confetti is allowed at the venue(s)?

4 Do you plan to throw your wedding bouquet?

If you wish to keep it, you could consider throwing a mock bouquet of flowers.

5 What time of year are you getting married?

Is there any seasonal opportunities at your venue – bluebells flowering or fields of wheat?

6 We live in a beautiful part of the south west; Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. Are there any special locations nearby or on route to the reception venue, that could be photography opportunities? If you plan to have some fun/romantic photographs taken in a field; on the moor or at the beach – remember your wellies or flip flops and sun glasses.

7 If you do plan to have some location shots taken during the day, ensure you also inform your wedding car company of your plans.

8 Wet weather – does your venue(s) offer inside opportunities if the weather is poor?

9 Do you or any of your wedding party wear glasses with reaction lenses? These lenses darken in sunlight, you may wish to wear contacts or clear lenses.

10 Group photographs – if there are any particular groups of people you would like photographs of, remember to let your photographer know.

On Sunday Love Day Photography were asked to photograph Annabelle’s christening at St.Michael’s Church in Islington, near Bovey Tracey, Devon. The Christmas christening was a very happy family occasion, which we were delighted to be a part of this special celebration.

Merry Christmas to all our wedding couples.

Love Day Photography wish all our wedding couples a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🙂

We would like to thank all our 2013 wedding ‘couples’, it has been a pleasure to be asked to take your wedding photography and be part of your special day this year.

We are now looking forward to photographing our 2014 weddings around Cornwall & Devon.

Yesterday Love Day Photography covered Laura and Tom’s wedding day photography and film at their Christmas wedding at Buckland-Touts-Saints in south Devon. The girls were wearing their special christmas onesies which we I think they may have been tempted to stay in for the rest of the day! Tom had recorded a great love song compilation for Laura with snippets of special times together, which was so lovely.

The couple were married in a tradition wedding ceremony at the little church up on the hill from the venue. Wow it was windy up there, we captured some lovely shoots of the bride’s beautiful dress swirling around and the confetti taking off!

Back at the wedding reception guests were treated to mulled wine and magic!

Last weekend Love Day Photography, were asked to cover Lindsay & Daniel’s special day. The bride loves christmas so the wedding had a strong seasonal theme from snowflake pew ends, beautiful fur capes and the stunning ice blue bridesmaid dresses. The day started with the groom men turning up in a fun VW camper van at the church in Saltash, Cornwall, before moving to The Duke of Cornwall in Plymouth for the wedding reception.

The day was lots of fun including, bridesmaids reacting their abba dance from the hen do, the bride pushing the camper back to Duke of Cornwall and the one the guest sporting the best tash we have ever seen for Movember.

Please enjoy this sneak preview, and we hope the couple are having a fab time on honeymoon in Lapland and hope they also give our love to Santa!

A couple weeks ago Love Day Photography covered Emma & James’s wedding day at Holne Park on Dartmoor. The couple enjoyed a fun filled autumn wedding. We loved this grand Devon country estate, which was looking fantastic in the November light. Autumn leaves inspired the stunning bouquets and wedding cake, and couple even venture out in some fab wellies!

A couple of weekends ago we headed to north Devon with my sister and her family. We had a love stay at Laston House Hotel in Ilfracombe, which is a beautiful Victorian house which would be a great venue for a vintage wedding. Owners Alison and Greg hope to open it for weddings in 2015.

We admired Damien Hirst’s Verity sculpture under the moon light, and enjoyed a hearty farmers breakfast on the Sunday before heading to Woolacombe bay for some winter paddling and beach fun. We hope you enjoy this montage from the family photoshoot on the beach at Woolacoombe.

Portrait-LovedayPhoto2012-Sarah&Gary

As I was looking through some of our wedding archives lately I came across this fantastic wedding in Devon that we photographed for Sarah and Gary. A beautiful day in Exeter which had a retro, vintage feel to the day… Congratulations Mr and Mrs Newman on your 1st Wedding Anniversary!

A year ago… the day started with a chevorlet and maserati! After a traditional church wedding ceremony at St. James’, the wedding party enjoyed a reception in the September sun at St.Olaves. We had been asked to do the wedding photography and film for this retro couple. The couple wanted some urban photos, so later in the evening we ventured out onto the streets of Exeter. The evening light was fantastic, which really helped to create some moody scenes.
